Auburndale Watch Co., Auburndale, Mass., rotary pocket watch, 20 size, stem wind and lever set gilt plate movement with lever escapement in a nickel, snap back and bezel open face case and Roman numeral white enamel dial, blued steel spade and whip hands, serial #10, c1880.
CONDITION:
CASE: Dings and minor dents; Scratches on outer surface of case; Losses to plating. DIAL: Hairlines and small fracture, 6:00. HANDS: Replaced. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Losses to gilding; Some steel with minor oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Runs dial down, dial up the balance rubs the winding/ setting cock. RARITY: This is a four star watch in Gilbert, Engle and Shugart's `Complete Price Guide to Watches`, uncommon, less than 100 made.
